Niseko puts many natural wonders right at your doorstep.

Mount Yotei, an active volcano inside Hokkaido’s Shikotsu-Toya National Park, is also called “Ezo (Hokkaido) Fuji” for its resemblance to Japan’s most famous peak. You can admire the beautiful silhouette of Mount Yotei from popular ski resorts in winter and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking in the mountain in summer.

You can experience canoeing, fishing, and rafting on the Shiribetsu River, known for its clear streams.

There are also plenty of facilities for sports like tennis and baseball, making Niseko an ideal place to enjoy both nature and athletic activities.

From local Hokkaido dishes like ramen, sushi, and “Jingisukan” grilled mutton, to refined gourmet restaurants including French and Italian, the area boasts an array of dining options.

Indulging in delicious cuisine while viewing the spectacular scenery is one of Niseko’s special luxuries.

Skiing naturally comes to mind when winter sports in Niseko are mentioned. The dry “powder snow” that accumulates in great amounts as northerly winds blow in from the Sea of Japan is one reason skiing here is so popular.

Skiers can enjoy an optimal experience in this region of heavy snowfall with gorgeous views and world-class powder snow.
